Just correct the tank conditions and give them the salt water & give them what they need to be and then leave them alone is all you can do.if you just got them you will want to leave them be for one month let them distress. High protein foods: organic honey in a small cap, organic peanut butter, cuttle bone, hard boiled egg, cooked unseasoned chicken ( in their water ) are good things to put in for food. Worm castings are great!I don't know what the grainy spots could be??You don't see anything moving? Mites?

@TonysHermits, I agree with Laurie all you can do is just correct the conditions and wait.Ecuadorians don't have the internal mechanism to retain salt like the PP so they tend to loose it almost as fast as they are taking it in which is why a dish of marine grade salt water is critically necessary to keeping them happy, healthy and most importantly alive. You can't get away with using basic fresh water aquarium salt like API or Jungle because this kind of aquarium salt lacks the essential trace minerals and elements that a good reef or salt water aquarium salt will have.Instant Ocean is my favorite brand of salt mix to use and I have tried Oceanic's in the past with little success. All hermitcrab species need to have a constant humidity level of at least 70 percent to maintain healthy gill function and with exotics like E's they don't handle being exposed to sub-par humidity levels for very long well.If correcting the humidity issue and offering some salt water doesn't help to bring them back around in a weeks time then there may have been some damage done that is not reversible at this point but only time will tell. The white grainy things may be mites but since I don't have a picture to look at I can't be one-hundred percent certain.
Hi I have autism so I tend to answer questions very directly and with little emotion so please don't think I'm being rude.
