First Molt Success.

We fell into the tourist beach trap of hermit crabs while in the OBX in June. My 13 yo daughter thought they were awesome. We got three very small PP's all in tiny painted shells "cute for a girl". Well immediately realized after a quick tablet search...whoa this is a lot more than expected. Luckily it was our last day as planned and then a 7 hour drive home. After reading post after post on here ...we immediately put them into a ten gallon tank I had with wire lid. I taped plexiglass to the top and left a small opening for airflow. Fashioned a homemade humidifer out of an old air pump for the tank and a gatorade bottle. The tanks stayed at 80/80 (have plenty of thermo/hydro combos (cigar enthusiast has some perks finally). Two UTH on side and back @ four inches of play sand/EE combo sandcastle consistency. Well the crabs all went down immediately...A quick trip to petsmart and a large bag of shells from the fish section gained us about 8 turbos of various sizes. About a week later two came up and immediately switched shells and have been digging and exploring/climbing all along. However the smallest stayed down and we feared the worst after we started to near the 2 month period. Well this morning we look in to see that tiny painted shell empty under a choya branch and a new bright green turbo on top of the cork tunnel with a bright orangish/pink crab covered with hair hanging out...SURPRISE!
