another rescue death

The last crab rescue we did was from the dreadful greeting card/gift shop in the mall and we got four crabs that day. Sweet Boy (my favorite), Zack and two others that only the kids could tell apart. We lost Zack a couple of weeks ago - This week Sweet Boy is gone. They were in very bad conditions - I am amazed that they lasted so long. The other two are molting currently and I hope that they make it. Zack and Sweet Boy were pretty large and I have a feeling that the ignorant customers avoided them because they were afraid they would hurt them. (which they wouldn't) So I think the bigger crabs were in that plexi-glass cage with an open top and about 1/4 inch of calci sand and no lid or anything (so anyone could pick them up) with just s small water dish for a LONG time. Poor guys. I did adore them though. Glad I could make their last couple of months better. RIP.
