I blame Animal Crossing: New Leaf for my final decision on getting hermit crabs.I've wanted one for over a year (Actually would have loved one for my 21st birthday!).So far I have Alice (Alice Cooper), Jack (Jack Davenport), and Johnny (Johnny Depp).This is actually not my first post, my very first post was in Molting because I'm still not sure if I've just set up Johnny for death or not. I honestly thought he had already passed away from the stress of moving!Good grief the people at the pet store don't know anything! OR EVEN PROPERLY SUPPLY!First I got a 5 gallon tank for Johnny and Alice, then not only reading about it, I could clearly see it was WAY too cramped for them! I bought a Kritter Keeper to put Alice in (since Johnny buried himself) so I could bring him out to the living room (the tank is in my room) so I could interact with him and I had read somewhere, or I dreamed it up, that hermit crabs actually watch TV, so far, Alice seems to have a thing for Judge Judy!Alice loves peanuts, coconut, and Cheerios (I found him munching on one one day; I had stuck two in the food bowl out of curiosity)Jack is the only one that has pinched me, and it was only once! I was carrying him from the tank to my bed so i could let him and Alice crawl around me and get to know my smell (especially since the California heat has been hitting and I haven't changed my bedsheets from flannel I've been sweating a bit.)Lately, I've been out of sorts because of my medication. I stopped taking one pill and it really threw me off, I thought it wasn't working anymore! It's really messed me up so, unfortunately, I haven't been handling Alice and Jack the last day or two, but they don't seem to mind at all.I've got 5 cats. No, my mom and I are not animal hoarders; we had two, and the neighbor had five kids all under 10 years old, and she decided to get the three oldest kids each a kitten. Of course the kids didn't take care of them, the mom didn't either (dad is off at work for a contracting company), so they were pretty much left as outdoor cats fending for themselves. The cats didn't seem to care for their owners (especially since the neighborhood kids were tossing around the youngest one like a ball!). After a while, my mom and I had had enough and took the three kittens in. THE KIDS AND THE MOM NEVER WENT LOOKING FOR THEM. The oldest kid just shouted out for "Bella" (FYI, "Bella" is a MALE. Yes, I am aware of famous actor Bella Lugosi, but is a 9 year old kid going to? 99.9% chance of NOPE). They all moved away without the cats, so now we have the first two; Mosi and Simon, and then the three; Buddy, Tabby, and Logan (why Logan? My Blu Ray of Logan's Run was out. Logan the cat's full name? I went full nerd; it's Logan 5 (coincidentally he is cat #5 since he is the youngest of the bunch!)

Just wanted to update everyone;Alice is still down for his molt.Johnny is slowly starting to warm up to me; he'll come out of his shell and look at me, but as soon as I move he withdraws back into his shell faster than I can blink. But hey, it's better than not coming out at all when I'm around!Jack is a very curious little guy! I found out he is definitely a boy! He likes cheerios and coconut!

Just take it easy on the cheerios anything processed is not good in large quantities. Some would argue not at all. Glad your having fun with them.
