Abby got another round of antibiotics and has healed up fine. No problem.
With Spiderman, we came right down to the topic with the vet about having her PTS but he offered to try another antibiotic first - so that's what we did. Big difference! The infection cleared off and she started to stand again. Now she's walking around a little bit too. I know I didn't get into it on my first post about this infection but she was not using her back legs at all - couldn't/wouldn't bear any weight on them - so this is a big improvement. She's off the antibiotics now and continuing to do about the same. Vet said it could take a long time for her to heal completely, and I suspect she's going to always have some pain in those joints. She already seems to have good days and bad days, which fit right along with the good/bad days my husband has with arthritis. We're still keeping her separate from the others. Hopefully she'll continue improving. Just going to keep taking it one day at a time.
