How do you put a UV bulb on a glass lid? Will it be effective to sit on top of the lid? I'm looking into going on to a glass lid but not sure about the specifics of adding lights and all that.

Thanks so much for the info.

I use light diffusers on my 75s to hold in humidity. The sheets are 4x2 and are around $10 each.

The plexiglass measures less than 2' x 2' and ran me about $30. In reality it would be about the same price to do the entire 75 gallon in plexiglass as buying the entire glass 2 piece lid. It would probably be cheaper to get it and cut it yourself though.

We first started with Saran wrap under a screen top. Adding the glass tops made big improvements with humidity with all of our tanks. It's a lot less of a hassle not having to rearrange the plastic whenever you need to get into the tank. I thought it was worth the price of going with glass for that luxury!

I'll look into plexiglass cut when i go to town thursday for new tubing and a check valve. I've been wanting something other than the egg crate light diffuser/seran wrap lid i've been using. It works great, but i have to stack books and stuff on top to keep crabs from lifting it up (it's so lightweight!) and i want to add a light to the tank so plexiglass will work perfect.

I saw some posts about a DIY sliding glass lid? it looked pretty simple. Anyone try those? What did you think?
