EE? Sand?
I recently upgraded to a 75-gallon tank. I have around 300lbs of sand in it getting to 7 inches of sub. Should I add EE? or just keep sand? The crabs are already in the tank.

Re: EE? Sand?
You can go either way with the EE. Some people do straight sand or EE. or any combination of mixture. The HCA and other groups recommend a 5/1 combo of Sand/EE since that replicates the consistency and texture of natural beach sand.

Re: EE? Sand?
We actually don't recommend any specific mix. We have members who have used straight EE for decades who love the stuff, others (like myself) who stick with straight sand, and crabbers who use a whole range of different ratios of the two.
Sand by itself doesn't behave much differently then the mix. If you have trouble with humidity you may want to try some EE in there as it can help stabilize things.

Thank you so much!! I'm going to keep just sand for now. If I'm struggling with humidity I'll add EE but for now, everything is maintaining good.
