Unbaked Cork? (Worried..)

Post by Pumpkincrab » Thu Apr 22, 2021 7:21 pm

Hello.
Over the last few months I have added in a few pieces of cork bark to the tank...without boiling it.
I got them from a local pet store that has like an empty box full of it.
I just put the new 29g together and I'm wondering, is it harmful if I didn't boil them first?

Thank you!!

No, it’s not harmful. Heat helps kill off insects and mold spores but if it’s been sitting in a warehouse and pet store for who knows how long it’s not a big deal.
