min wage

My boss just told me that the min. Wage is up for voting this yr it will mean my wage will go from 8.75 ,to 10.00 an hour. I'm not to happy about it because she said if it passes then I have to have my hours cut at the library and prob one day more closed, but she will get a raise.. what the?? Does not make any sense to me at all. Why should she get a raise? She claims she is salary paid. She doesn't do that much but some reports, budgets, pay roll, brain work..I do the manual, the entering, deleting, updating, ordering, running, cleaning, all the dirty work so her fat butt doesn't move from her desk. How fair is this?? I'm just a little upset over this..She sits over there at her desk and does nothing but complain and make noises about how sick to death she is of working so hard..She is here Mon. Tues. And Wed. 6 hours each day if that, she leaves early all the time. Then when she leaves she packs her bags and runs the rest of the week, never stays home..My feelings are if you don't want to be there then quit, leave..let the board hire someone that will work. Some jerk decided to contact all government offices and ask for 6 years of records of checks that have been written. We had to go looking for them, they were scattered all over. She can't.find some months..how hard is it to have a file cabinet with file folders when you.have your monthly bills you put them in there and when you have your board meeting and they get paid the receipts and minutes go in that folder and marked e that month and year and takes less than 5 min to open the drawer and put in order. Nope she throws it on the desk, it gets piled up with other stuff, then shoved else where..She is so lazy she can't pick up a ink pen on her side..it's a pig stye. Ok my rant is over...

@Laurie, minimum wage has gone up twice since my last job in 06' back then it was about $6.50 an hour here in GA then the state increased it to $7.00 the next year and then again to $7.50 two years ago.Theres talks of it being increased to $8.00 an hour but the state wont go any higher because the state legislature is saying that if minimum wage goes any higher than that it will put the fast food restaurants like McDonald's out of business because they will have to go up another three to five dollars on the meals to pay their employees the new wage so we are talking about going from $3-$5 per meal to $6-$10 which will drive the $1 menu up even more than it already has and thats where these places are making their money is off the value menu so if they keeping increasing their prices to cover higher wages for their employees the majority of their customer base will disappear simply because the establishment priced themselves out of business.The same for retail employees the higher their wage gets the more the retailer has to charge for the merchandise they carry to offset the higher wage earnings.A raise in the minimum wage is not the answer a lot of minimum wage workers thinks it is in fact it will do so much more damage than they realize that we will see mass layoffs again and businesses closing their doors by the droves.I don't see where your boss should be getting a raise especially if she claims to be on a salary I don't think its right for her to claim a raise but then cut your hours back thats completely unfair...

My son went to college for resteraunt management and took all sorts of classes, has his sanitizing license and other ones, just got promoted in his job in dietary makes 13$ something an hour.. now the fast food people think they should get to walk in off the street and BOOM almost make what my son paid 10,000 out of pocket to get a job for. That's not fair either..us I'm not happy with my boss at all. She has changed since got divorced then remarried a guy that she thinks has $. All she does is run and blow $, it's all about $ for her now..show off, complains she doesn't want to work anymore, says she works all the time..I don't see where?? She is at the library 18 hours a wk and from thurs to Sunday she is running around on vacations, shopping, visiting people, motorcycle riding, meeting people for dinners or supper and 90% of the time this is without her husband..He is working the farm. I just want to scream at her so bad at times if you are so UN happy here and don't want to work then quit..You don't do anything half the time when you are here anyway..She wouldn't dream of doing a delivery for someone if they needed a book, my gosh she would have to get off her booty.....Lol..
