Finally redecorated the tank!
Finally redecorated the tank!
Florals, cork, grapewood, larger water pools! I also got rid of my shower caddy moss pit. It was becoming a hassle rewetting the moss and having the crabs spew moss everywhere. Instead the moss pit is in the sub (held by doubled Tupperware) I prefer a natural look, and I was inspired by some of the tanks I've seen with florals. I decided to give it a go- it was a lot of rearranging but I'm really happy with the look!
(The humidity is low because I had just finished rearranging when I took the picture. It's stable now. The gauge has gone a little wonky as you can see- I can still make out the readings, but I'm getting a new hydrometer soon.) Here you can see the moss pit near the cork, and dinner (which is crickets, millet, quinoa, apples, and coconut flakes)
And the crabs started exploring immediately!
Kai climbing away!
Tai wondering if she wants to explore or hide away..
"I can eat this..right?"
Yay for a new tank layout!

Beautiful! I absolutely love those floral decorations
I am coming up to decorating my tank a bit more, and adding substrate. Otherwise, I don’t do major changes often.

I love your tank layout. It's so symmetrical, clean, and natural looking! I look forward to seeing what you decorate with!StellaCrab wrote:Beautiful! I absolutely love those floral decorations

Re: Finally redecorated the tank!
Aww, thank you!
I have more fishing net, another cork, and plenty of other plants. I planned to remove one of my two driftwoods and replace them with branches and cork. I want to do a moss basket on the ground to go with my second level moss.
Who knows, we’ll see when my large comes up from her molt!

To make a shower caddy look natural, you can weave and zip tie plastic plants through the square holes
One or hopefully two Clypeatus
Goodbye my little E. See you soon.
Bye Fred. You lasted almost 4 years with me. Hope you're with my E now! See you soon Reeba as well. I can't believe I lost you only after a month.

I love the colorful flowers! I'm curious if your crabs will climb to the end of the flowers and fall off. I find they do that with the foliage.

Looks great! Love the pictures of the hermits too!!
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com
Re: Finally redecorated the tank!
I've tried that, but I've never cared for the look with the types of leaves I have. They end up falling apart as I weave them, and then the moss always gets caught in the vine when I replace it. It's too much of a hassle, but I don't mind!AwesomeHermit wrote:To make a shower caddy look natural, you can weave and zip tie plastic plants through the square holes

Thank you! I haven't seen them climb on top of the flowers yet, but both of them have tightroped at the very top of the jute cord net, traveled all the way to the flowers, and then just fall asleep there. It's kind of funnyHermiesguardian wrote:I love the colorful flowers! I'm curious if your crabs will climb to the end of the flowers and fall off. I find they do that with the foliage.
