HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hello all! I have not been on here in a long time! I did have two crabs and one passed away awhile back, he had a bad molt and did not make it :( I have one crab left and one of my local pet stores recently started carrying a few hermit crabs at a time. They have one crab available that I am interes...

This is all so interesting! Those pictures of the eggs are so cool!

I made a little mix of baby shrimp, cranberry, bee pollen, almond pieces, worm castings, honey cuttlebone, and a dash a sea salt. Sadly, nothing fresh tonight : ( ...tomorrow there will be though : ) This is the first time I've mixed things by myself to make a mini mix, hope they like it.

Does anyone have any input on this? I would think its okay.....but just not sure

I was just curious as to what you guys think about opening a teabag and feeding that to crabs? The brand that I have is Numi and it is a certified organic brand. The three I was specifically wondering about were Moroccan Mint, Green Rooibos, and Honeybush. For ingredients the morrocan mint just say...

There is a Whole Foods up the road from my work, so that's where I have been going to buy some of my crab food. It's true; there is so much there! It's nice because you can find things in their all natural state

I didn't see mealworms or grasshoppers on either the safe food list or the unsafe list. Is it okay to feed hermies these? Has anybody had good or bad results from trying either? Thanks!

Is can tuna safe to give hermies? Like the starkist brand? It says in the ingredients it has salt....whats the deal with salt? They cant have iodine right? Why is that? Is the salt amount in the can tuna small enough to feed them some? Thanks!
