Re: Changing gender?
Mine have changed gender. I used to have about an equal number of males and females. Now I have one large male (who used to be female) and the rest are females (except for two recent fosters who haven't been with my colony very long). They are behaving much more like a harem--reminds me quite a bit ...

Re: Artemis, Day 14 carrying eggs
I'm starting to get ridiculously excited about the adoption weekend! And I'm already looking forward to that special feeling of pride and accomplishments when I get to see pictures of these babies living in their new forever homes. I've been working on making a bunch of tiny clay items for ...

Re: Artemis, Day 14 carrying eggs
Just wondering, what sizs tank are they in? My adult crabs are in a 120-tall, but the babies are currently all in a ten gallon. They would get lost in anything larger. As they grow I'll probably spread them over two tanks (or more, depending on how fast they grow), but for right now they seem to re...

Re: Artemis, Day 14 carrying eggs
You guys crack me up. :hlol: It is SO hard to keep track of them all. Started a new full count today and we're up to 195 as I tucked them all in tonight. Found them congregating in big groups, all snuggled together happily. They seem to be really companionable little creatures, thankfully. I have be...

Re: Artemis, Day 14 carrying eggs
Did a land count yesterday and there are currently 215 moving around, eating, and climbing. There may be more underground finishing up molts, so I'll keep the empty tank warm for a few more days to see if more emerge. Here's a video from Facebook. https://m.facebook.com/mary.akers?fref=nf&ref=m_noti...

Re: Artemis, Day 14 carrying eggs
Just moved #150 in a shell over to the land tank. I don't have time for a bigger update, sorry, I'm barely keeping up, and there are more still in the water in shells. Will need to figure out a bigger baby tank very soon. Thanks for going along on this crazy ride.
