Re: How to Lift a Full Tank???

Yeah, I was thinking that the weight of the sand would break the glass if I tried to lift it. I also thought about the bin of sand on the patio last night and that I could just find an old metal coffee can and fill it with sand and plastic plants or something and add to the decor.

How to Lift a Full Tank???

We recently moved to a 55 gallon tank. I schlepped 250 lbs of sand into my apartment, mixed bricks of coco fiber with water, mixed coco fiber with sand, and spent an eventful (sweaty) evening with an old pot dumping substrate into the tank. There's probably between 250-300 lbs of substrate and stuff...

Dr's Foster and Smith

I hadn't really seen a lot of people talking about getting their crab supplies from this site, BUT, I just ordered the following products listed below and paid less than $100.00, and received the items very quickly. One Zilla hinged screen cover: $19.99 (55 gallon) Two night bulbs (red) for heating ...

Re: Zilla Screen Cover with Hinged Door

I don't know what size your tank is, but I just got a screen cover that's fully horizontally hinged for my 55 gallon tank. It measures 13" wide by 48" long, and I paid 19.99 for it from Dr's Foster and Smith. That's the largest size they have and for only 20 bucks, it's cheaper than I've found anywh...

Crabs actually NOT digging...new tank.

We recently swapped from a 20 gallon tank to a 55 gallon tank. The 55 gal is 13 inches wide by 48 inches long and around two and a half feet tall (I'm guessing on the height). It's got between 11-13 inches of substrate (play sand/coco fiber mix, sandcastle consistency), which is much deeper than the...

Re: Possibly naked crab buried! What to do???

They're in a 20 gallon right now, a small person spilled iced tea in my laptop so I'm having to use my phone. I found the crab and just dropped two shells in the cave and now it's reshelled and seems to be fine I don't know what happened but Groot seems to be alright.

Possibly naked crab buried! What to do???

1. What kind of substrate is used in your tank and how deep is it? 6" play sand/coco fiber, sand castle consistency 2. Do you have gauges in the tank to measure temperature and humidity? If so, where are they located and what temperature and humidity do they usually read? Digital hygrometer 78 degre...

Would appreciate input on new crabitat setup!

Hey all, new crab owner from Texas with some heating questions. We've had our crabs since June and have survived a couple of molts so far. Since it's been so warm, we've not needed to use any heat sources for our crabitat. The humidity is maintained at around 80% or more and the temperature is aroun...

Re: Hermit Crab Addiction

Well I'm just an impatient jerk, lol. Just got a response from Vicki, apparently PayPal never showed the payment as cleared. I'm excited to get our package and try out all the goods!

I will post reviews with photos soon.

Hermit Crab Addiction

I was just wondering if anyone had experience with the Hermit Crab Addiction store and shipping times. I ordered from them and Naples on the same day, and have already received my Naples order. I haven't even had an order confirmation or email stating that they received payment and everything cleare...
