Re: New to Molting

That depends on how much substrate you have. But all of mine leave behind a huge mound of dirt. When they dig up it looks like a tunnel.

What do you mean you have 2??

Re: Dig up from molt :(

Wow!! Are these new crabs E's??? Cuz that is plenty of substrate.

I've got 13 crabs and every one has molted at least once if not twice. I know at least 4 that have molted twice and my substrate is between 6-8 inches depending where they are in the tank.

Re: Decided?

Sounds like a good choice! I hope I was able to help you with the reptile hoods. My bearded dragon needs heat into the 100's which is way too high for my crabs. They are completely different lights and set ups. With my crabs I too use the heating pad on the back with the lights on top. I have a day ...

Re: Reptile Hood Questions

They have both lamp stands for sale - one that you can attach to the side of the tank and one you can put under your tank.

Re: Reptile Hood Questions

I have this light/lamp stands that I bought to bring up the lights because at times I need to lower his temps so this way I can bring it up. You can raise and lower the lamps as you please. Or you can get the fixture with the clamp on it http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160819/e007f320e2c4f21f3636b...

Re: Where should the temp/humid gauge be?

I personally have a few of them. Up high and down low plus I've got a probe that hangs low. I personally like to have readings from the different zones. Did you calibrate that gauge? Uhhh. Since I don't know what you mean, I'm going to answer no...what do I need to do? Sent from my SM-G930V using T...

Re: New to hermit crabs

I just found this site and I am so glad I did. I'm new to hermit crabs and just bought 2 today (I plan on getting a couple more in the next few days). They are currently completely buried in their substrate, they have about 5 1/2 inches of eco earth. Anyways, just thought I would say hi! Welcome! C...

Re: MY CRABS LEGS ARE FALLING OFF!!!!!!!

Most crabs will bury themselves to de stress. It is completely normal. A few things I would do is get your substrate up to at least 6 inches. They need the substrate to dig down and molt. The other thing is - get rid of the sponge. It is not needed and will only create bacteria. If you do want a spo...

Really any size would work. Like a 5 gallon. When Petco has the $1.00 per gallon sale that's when I would get one.

Re: Thinking about Es

Honestly E's need to be with their kind. 2 E's would do much better.

Temps and humidity look good. How big is your tank?
