How can I tell my females have eggs?

This area is dedicated to the pioneers who have captive bred crabs, and for those who wish to learn more or attempt it themselves. Also for inquiring about the gender of your crabs.

Just wondering if there is anything you will notice or if you pick up each of the females to examine if they have eggs?

Sometimes you may notice guarding behavior, where a male follows a female around to keep other males away and entice her to mate.

If you look inside Abby's shell or the right to can see all her eggs. I happened to catch them copulating. If I wouldn't have seen that I wouldn't have known. She should be getting ready to drop her eggs any time now!Image
