Pumpkin buried for over 2 months; concerned

Post by Pumpkincrab » Tue Feb 16, 2021 9:39 pm

Pumpkin is a small-medium hermit crab. She has an opening of about 1".
She's been buried for about 2 and a half months. Should I be concerned? Thanks!

I don't think you should be worried. Hermit crabs can take lots of time to molt. As long as you don't smell a strong odor near the tank, Pumpkin should be fine.

By the way, I love Pumpkin's name!

I made a mistake. I was looking back through texts and whatnot and Pumpkin went down 4 months ago, along with Blackberry. I hope she's okay. I am getting very concerned now.

i wouldn’t be worried
some crabs will be buried under for a little while before they even start to molt just give it time
but even if something did happen there’s not much to do about it because you shouldn’t go digging in your tank anyways
