First time molting

Post by Billy'smom » Wed Aug 19, 2020 7:35 pm

So it the first time my crabby is molting. I covered the area he is in with a small dish carefully because my other crabbies were trying to bother him. Is there anything I should do to distract them from him?

He is molting on the surface? Is this the one that was injured?

No this is the aggressive one that is molting. He dug down but the others keep digging where I last saw him. I did this because they were digging above him.Image

Ah, okay. Have you made the suggested changes from your previous post? Crabs will often make tunnels and move once they are underground. Just because he went down there, does not mean that's where he is. If you have sub that is at least three times as deep as your largest crab, and it is moistened with dechlor water so it is sand castle consistency, and if your tank is not over crowded, it is very unlikely that a crab will dig up another crab.

Soo. Since 2 of my 3 crabbies have gone down, my third just sits around seemingly sad and lonely. Any advice?
