Plant mats

Post by crabs_lex » Thu Nov 12, 2020 12:37 pm

i have quite a few of the plastic plant mats if that is what they are called. They are the ones that are a flat tact angle looking kind with a grid on the bottom of them. I bought a whole bunch of used supplies from another crabber and these were included. I was just wondering how i would use them. I have seen people just hang them on a wall flat against the side of their tank and i have tried that but my crabs never climb it.
creative thoughts are always welcome :)

i have two of these. one is just bigger than the other and i have it facing the floor to show the grid. but the grid is very flexible. i also had suction cups tied in them to hang then but the crabs had no interest in the way i used to have them lol.

Those are cool, never seen them before! Gosh, idk...I’d have to see your tank. If it were me I might use them on a 2nd level maybe. Could be a good place to keep shells without them getting sandy. Maybe position them into a little hidey spot?

here is the left side of the tank. (i am working on redoing the tank and my shell shop is broken so that’s why the shells are all over) in my old ten gallon i had lots of climbing things but with this tank i am starting new. but also in the bottom left corner i have a plastic tupperware container that i have turned into a moss cave

Plant mats

Your tank looks great, love the Spongebob house! Maybe just stick those plant mats back to the wall, even if just to provide more green in the environment to mimic their surroundings in nature. Never know, maybe they’ll just take a while to check them out and climb .

Wow, Casey, that's tank goals right there! So amazing... Now my 16gal tote looks so bare compared to that!
