We don't use sponges in our tanks. Sponges really are not big enough to create all that much amount of humidity.They breed bacteria. The only sponges we use are all natural sea type and put them some where in the tank so they stay dry. Crabs eat these. Happy crabbing!

Sterilize sponges by throwing them out. Keep the substrate a little moist to keep humidity up and keep the dishes full of water.
