The jungle vine is fine! We used it for a good while. U can do a few things to hold down the plastic mesh. U can cut holes in the Tupperware bowls and use plastic zip ties (sold at Walgreens or Walmart etc). If u don't have those then another option is to weigh them down. The inside of the pool could be held down by river rocks, shells, anything hermie safe and aquarium safe. The outside going from pool to sub could be done the same way:) I would go with the larger Tupperware for the pools - difficult to see from pic how different they are- and also just what fits best in the tat:)

The thing with the jungle vine is that pieces are falling off every time I move it. My floor has black flakes all over it. Seems that would be bad for my sub and babies. (It's a sad day when my crabs become my babies and they are warmer than me)Image since I have a 20 tall I could use one of each, it would definitely make more room. I just dint know which to make the bigger one. I put the bigger uth on and boy is it warmer. I put it on the opposite side of the water this time. Hope that was right. I bought a bad of river rock pebbles and boiled them, the water was filthy so I ran then under hot water, the water kept being dirty, so I stayed using a paper towel on each pebble and no matter how much I scrubbed the dirt kept coming off. So I'm afraid to put it in the water. If I do use them I will boil then again since I ran then under water that was not treated. I got my instant ocean and can definitely taste the salt in the water now. How can I keep the tubes still for the bubbler? I am going to have to set the pump on top of the lid since it has to be above water level. But the tubes are loose and I know mutt crabs will climb all over them

Yeah, our jungle vine had small flakes knocking off too when we were moving it around and adjusting things but otherwise didn't seem to cause any problems to the crabs. Also didn't seem to flake with crabs going across but maybe because they are so light? If u have purple pinchers I would make the larger Tupperware the FW bowl and the smaller the SW because I believe although they need both available, they will frequent the FW more than the SW. To keep the tubes still for the bubblers, u would need something to keep them in place. They sell aquarium tube holders that have a suction cup on the end - I got mine at Walmart and its several to a bag and fairly cheap! Hope that helps u some!

Hm. I use the jungle vines atm, but I haven't had much issue. Maybe I got lucky? The only places it's wearing is were the crabs have climbed it a bit TOO much. *cough* *cough* Mrs. Robinson. As far as the pebbles go, I wouldn't worry too much if you boiled them. The crabs come across quite a bit of dirt in the wild. You shouldn't have to worry about reboiling them or rinsing. The chlorine will have evaporated within a day.

But the rocks leave the water with a tanish color and film. If that's ok then great, otherwise I have a lot of tiny shells from the first bad I bought at a craft store I was going to use.

Weird. I suppose that's up to you, but if they don't come clean maybe the shells are a better idea.

So my new uth was keeping everything nice and warm, then I went downstairs for about 15 min and when I came back up I touched it and it was not warm anymore. Do they do that, warm up then cool then warm? I reset the surge protector just in case

So I was talking to people in different posts about this, but since this is where I try to put anything pertaining to my 20g tall, I'm posting here. This is the jungle vine I ordered from drsfosterandsmith Image and it flakes off. Image someone said they cut the suction cups off theirs, but mine didn't come with anything to attach it. Is this the wrong kind?

ImageI got my moss today, this is the exact brand that was recommended by several people. Do I need to boil this kind?

No, I'd just rinse it with dechlorinated FW and squeeze out the excess water. I mist my moss daily, but I have a different kind, so you may need to do it more/less.

What kind do you use, I don't like the way this smells. It's too earthy for my bedroom

I use Hiawatha Green Moss, but it all smells earthy. The best bet would be to cover the screen lid. After I did that there isn't any scent unless I open the lid.

ImageImage this is currently how it's set up, and I need to Move the whole tank downstairs Thursday for the new carpeting to be put in. How can I do this safely and the easiest? I read all of moving with crabs stickies and none of it talks about just moving to a different location in the home. It probably weighs 120lbs, it's got a bag and a half of play sand and half bag ee. I'm mad I didn't wait to set all this up

I have a glass lid... but it has a small gap in the back, they're pictured on here I think, and I swear I can smell it.

Maybe give it a little bit of time, and if that doesn't work maybe you could open a window if you have one?
