I just added some more substrate so I can say I have 7 inches of sand. My small hermie however has stopping digging ever since I added the extra sub and a new moss pit/shell shop in the tank. A Tupperware bowl with the shells and moist moss.
He does not dig anymore. Only my medium crab digs now. My small hermie Spencer just stays in the moss pit nestled between the cholla and giant fig leaf that acts as a sort of roof. Should I be concerned, or does that just make him feel safe? I've tried making a few holes in the sand but he doesn't bother those.
My smallest hermit wont dig?

Where he is sitting probably makes him feel safe. Just leave him be to become comfortable with the new surroundings.
Fyi If you dig yourself, you might end up disturbing molters so avoid doing so.
