Tiny bugs in crabitat? Please help!

Post by Hermie13 » Wed Jun 30, 2021 8:49 pm

Hello! I just got back from vacation to find a bunch of teeny tiny little bugs in my crabitat. Are they mites? How do I get rid of them and can they hurt my crabs? Thanks!

Where are the mites? Food mites are common to find in Crabitats and are not harmful to the crab, they are found in food and water bowls I have them in my tank as well. There are other mites that are harmful to the crab and can cause a crab to lose a limb and even die, these mites are found on the crab. viewtopic.php?f=124&t=92530

If you aren't sure what type of bug they are, this might be helpful:

Thank you guys! I didn’t see any mites on the crabs, just in and around the food dish so Im pretty sure it’s just food mites then!
