molting plzz help.

Post by 4x4bre » Sat Oct 11, 2014 12:32 am

I have 2 pps I rescued about 4 days ago. The.humidity was.super.low. they were on the wrong diet, and there temp was low. Its taken me all four.days to.figure out all.the supplies I needed and get everything situated. Tomorrow I plan on.changing the substrate as I dont know what type of sand is in there now and it is super low. But now one of my crabs is showing signs of trying to molt tonight. The sand isnt all the way damp enough and is quiet shallow. Plzz what should I do?! Don't want my crab mooring in these conditions.

Well, It really depends. Sometimes you may think a crab is going to molt, and it's not. What exactly is it doing?

He was looking really dull, eating a lot, and digging. Now he has completely dug.under and covered himself.

The dull color is probably from lack of nutrients and having the correct basic care. Digging is completely normal. How long has it been buried?

Since last night. I wanted to change the sand today, but now I'm afraid of digging him up if hes actually molting.
