New crab owner, new to HCA

Post by Kleinerhejhog » Thu May 28, 2015 9:56 pm

I should have probably called my post Blind new crab owner, just now noticed this section. I guess I've had tunnel vision trying to find all the answers I needed, lol...

I live in Texas, and got my crabs a week and a half ago in Florida. I had read just enough to be dangerous, I guess, before I got them. Right now they are called One of Three, Two of Three, and Three of Three. One of Three seems to be suffering from pretty severe Post Purchase Syndrome, not sure if he is going to make it. Two of Three mostly hides in a divot in the corner, but I have seen him out and about once. Three of Three, when he's not sitting on top of Two of Three, has been out for a while at some point most nights. I spy on them with a camera my husband set up for me, which I call CrabVision. It's recorded so I can review it if I haven't seen anybody in a while.

Since I got my crabs, I have pretty much spent all of my time learning what they actually need, and trying to get everything right for them so they can get settled. This forum, and the folks on it, have been a HUGE help to me, for which I am extremely grateful. Y'all have help set me straight without making me feel guilty for not having it all figured out beforehand. I do plenty enough guilting on my own, lol... I will be on here plenty as I set up my newly-aquired 55 gallon tank *properly* for my little buddies.

I also have a dog, five cats, and a freshwater aquarium currently containing eight residents. I have officially too many hobbies; I crochet, quilt, cross stitch, work with stained glass; I have tried my hand at many others ranging from calligraphy to woodcarving. Tonight I have been watching the progress of the E/V Nautilus on its first ever trip through the Panama canal. The Nautilus missions keep me fascinated all season long.
